Hyatt brings 16 years of solar product experience to his new assignment, including the launch of two highly successful start-ups in the field: Sun Hydronics and In Hot Water. He has been involved in the sale, installation and coordination of hundreds of solar hot water and power systems in the West. At ISH North America in 2006, one of his highly innovative product designs, the SunStation solar domestic hot water system, won first place in the New Products competition.
A frequent presenter at seminars on green energy, Hyatt also consults on complex solar projects.
“Rod has a wealth of practical experience at all levels of solar design and implementation — from small cabin power systems to large, complex heating and hot-water applications,” says HTP president David Martin. “Under his leadership, his two companies have successfully pioneered a series of increasingly compact and efficient methods for building solar thermal systems.”
In his new post, Hyatt will place special emphasis on the new solar domestic hot water packages recently unveiled by HTP. When combined with either one or two collector panels and an HTP solar water heater, these turnkey kits include a solar controller, pump station and pre-insulated 50-foot line set, plus all the various parts and components needed to complete the job quickly.
“The kits are designed to shorten the busy contractor’s learning curve on solar thermal heating projects, while helping him build quality, cost-effective installations time after time,” says Martin.
